GST annual return & reconciliation
GSTR-9 and, where required, GSTR-9C — reconciled against your books and your monthly filings before anything is submitted.
The annual return is where a year of small mismatches becomes one visible number. We reconcile three sets of figures — your books, your GSTR-1s, and your GSTR-3Bs — and resolve the differences before filing rather than explaining them to an officer later.
GSTR-9 is mandatory above ₹2 crore of annual turnover, and worth filing voluntarily below that if you have had a messy year. GSTR-9C, the reconciliation statement, applies above ₹5 crore.
The output you get is not just a filed return: it is a short memo listing every difference we found, what caused it, and what to change in the coming year so it does not recur.

Questions
About gst annual return & reconciliation
The things people ask us before they start.
My turnover is ₹1.4 crore. Do I have to file GSTR-9?
It is optional at that level. We usually recommend it if you claimed significant input credit or issued many credit notes — the reconciliation itself is the useful part.
Can differences still be corrected at the annual stage?
Some can, within the statutory window for amendments and credit claims. That window is why filing the annual return early rather than at the deadline matters.
