Legal notices, agreements & deeds
Rent agreements, partnership deeds, service contracts and recovery notices — drafted so they hold up, not copied off a template site.
Most of the disputes we are asked to help with started as a document nobody read properly, or a document that did not exist.
Agreements and deeds we draft:
- Rent and leave-and-licence agreements — with the term, escalation, deposit, maintenance, lock-in and notice period written explicitly, and the stamp duty and registration requirement for your state flagged. An unregistered long lease is worth far less in evidence than people assume, and the TDS obligation on rent above the threshold is a separate duty on the tenant.
- Partnership deeds — profit sharing, interest and remuneration to partners written the way section 40(b) needs them if you want the deduction, plus admission, retirement and death of a partner, and how the accounts are settled.
- Service and consultancy agreements — scope, payment terms, ownership of the work, confidentiality and how either side gets out. For freelancers this is also the document that decides whether your income is professional receipts or something a department can recharacterise.
- Founder, loan, sale and settlement agreements, and the supporting affidavits and declarations that go with them.
Legal notices. A well-drafted notice resolves more matters than it starts — recovery of an unpaid invoice, a cheque dishonour, a breach of contract, a tenant in default. It puts the demand and the deadline on the record, which is the precondition for anything that follows. We draft, send by the route that proves service, and draft the reply when a notice arrives at your end.
We draft and advise. We do not appear in court — where a matter needs litigation, we say so and help you hand it over cleanly with the papers already in order.

Questions
About legal notices, agreements & deeds
The things people ask us before they start.
Does my rent agreement have to be registered?
It depends on the term and on your state's stamp and registration rules. Short leave-and-licence arrangements are handled differently from long leases, and the consequence of not registering is evidentiary — the document becomes much harder to rely on. We tell you what applies where the property is.
Is a legal notice worth sending if I may not sue?
Very often, yes. A formal notice with a deadline settles a large share of small recovery matters on its own, and if it does not, it establishes the demand and the date — which any later proceeding will be built on.
Do you appear in court?
No. We draft, advise and put the file in order. If a matter needs to be litigated we will say so early and help you brief someone who does, rather than let it drift.
